How Often Should I Receive Reflexology or Acupuncture?

The ideal frequency of sessions varies depending on each person’s individual needs and physiology. Every body responds differently, based on what it is dealing with and what the therapeutic goal is.

Therapies such as reflexology, acupuncture, massage, shiatsu, and other complementary modalities are suitable for all ages — from early childhood to later adulthood.

For individuals aged 40+ who do not face a specific health issue, one session per week is recommended. This helps the body maintain its natural balance, slow down the pace of physical wear, and support overall wellbeing.

If there is a concern such as a fibroid, polyp, injury, or pain in the lower back, neck, or other areas, the frequency may increase to twice per week. This allows the body to recover more quickly and effectively.

For those living with an autoimmune condition, regular sessions can be beneficial at any age, as they help regulate the nervous system and promote holistic wellness.

External factors—such as high humidity, intense cold, or heat—often lead people to cancel their session because they feel uncomfortable. In reality, these are the moments when the body needs the most support to adapt to such extreme conditions.

Even when you are unwell, with fever or cough, your therapist can support your system to recover more smoothly and in less time.

Ultimately, caring for your body is not a luxury. It is a fundamental need and an act of self-respect — just like nourishing food and regular movement. Our body is the home we live in throughout our entire life; it deserves our consistent attention and care.
